What is required to become a childminder in the UK?
To be a childminder in the UK you need to make sure you have specific qualifications and checks. Not all qualifications will allow you to become a childminder so you need to make sure that you complete one that is recognised by Ofsted (the government organisation that you will need to register with). The best awarding body for childcare courses in the UK is CACHE. They are one of the longest running awarding bodies in the country and have a great reputation with all of their courses being Ofsted approved. As well as an Ofsted approved childminding course, you will also need a DBS check and to undergo first aid training for childcare.
